Default oil

yeah honda MTF is OK....just OK.

if you want something that is actually good, go for Redline manual tranny fluid.

i use that. it got rid of most notchyness that honda MTF couldn't. also at low speed you can double clutch into first (not that i recommend it) its good stuff...about 9$ a liter/quart whatever amount they sell it in. you'll need around 2.5 i think. so get three or four to be safe.

it is a must if you love ripping through gears at high rpms (which, in retrospect, probably is what caused the 2nd gear syncro to start to fail but, its just so damn fun.)

do whatever you want

Bull.

Honda MTF is the best for Honda manual transaxles. Redline fluids are designed for normal transmissions... ones that take gear oil. Honda MTF behaves like 10w40, while Redline oils are designed for transmissions that take gear oil (75 weight minimum.) Redline oils are too thick for Hondas.

It's like stopping an engine oil burning problem. 40 weight oil will do that, but it's not good for the engine.
