Default Advice needed! Can't figure it out.

I have a 1994 basic automatic Honda prelude. I belive it is a 2.2 or 2.0 liter. Ithe car was running fine , and when I was hooking up a 100 watt amp which was hooked up directly to my battery, both the car died and it blew up the amp at thye same time. I can't get the car started now. I checked the timming, the tentioning, valves, belt, and I can't seem to figure out what it could be. A friend of mine says it is the ECU cuz of the amp, but I don't see how that is possible being that amp was hooked up directly to the battery. I am trying to fix the car myself with a manual since I am strapped for cash right now, can someone give me pointers or just thoughts even on what the problem may be or how I can figure it out?? That particular year modle is the best Honda came out with I think and I want to salvage it.
