Default 1990 Civic - Seat Belt issue

I have a 1990 Honda Civic DX (not a hatchback). Recently my passenger side automatic seat belt has malfunctioned. Buying a new one is ridiculously expensive, so I am trying to get one from EBay and installing it myself.

Does anyone know if an automatic seat belt from a 1990 Honda Civic HATCHBACK would fit in my 4 door? I dont think it will, but wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.

Thanks for the help.

Where are you? I think in the USA Honda has a seatbelt warranty 'for the life of the car'.

Yeah this should be covered by Honda.

And if you're referring to the motor then any motor should fit.

Just call Honda and make an appointment. Let them know what model and year so they can be sure to have it for you, and there you go.

Brand new seatbelts FTW.

Yep. Honda car seatbelt problems=free repair of seatbelt for the life of the car. At least they fixed mine for free when it stopped retracting all the way.

Just wanted to put closure on this issue. You guys were exactly right. Although it took me 3 tries at different dealerships until one was very easy-going about it.

if anyone has this problem, go to the dealer to have it done for free.

Thanks everybody.
