Default New OBD1 chipped ECU question

Just got my P28 with a custom chip and conversion harness. I'm planning to install it and jump on a dyno within a month or so for my tuning. Just wanted to ask if it is a good/bad idea or even possible to plug it in now. Would I throw codes?(O2?) Damage anything? Will the ecu adjust?

Thanks boys

Matt

as long as you don't run WOT it should be fine. After the engine is warm enough, the ECU runs closed loop which will keep your A/F at ~14.7:1.
An A/F meter is actually good at a time like this, you can keep an eye on it just in case.
