Default thunk

Within the past month, I've been hearing a thunk or clunk... sometimes, not everytime, when I accelerate from a stop.

I've heard it once when coming to a hard stop at the top of a hill.

At first I thought it was a nut that I had dropped, but that was more like 2 months ago and it was on the driver side. This sound is coming more towards the passenger side.

I checked out my Hayes book and it said it could be a worn/broken axle or CV joint. I don't friggin know, what do you think?

It's happened a few times when I'm coming out of a turn... I'd say it's like at the apex of the turn. it thunks.

I don't notice it too much when turning. Most of it is just when I'm pulling out from a stop.

It seems to be the same turning either way... but like I said, that's not that often.

I'm sure it's no suprise... but I've never even seen an engine mount... but I would assume it's something that (if I knew where to look) that I could see.

Yes?

How many engine mounts are there?
Any way to narrow down which one it might be without looking at each one?
Will it be apparent if I look at it? (it could be broken a little or a lot but I really don't know what I'd be looking for)
