Default turboing

Hey guys me and my friend were talking about customing my own turbo for cheap with some parts hes getting rid of for upgrades. Now our plan is to use the following:
his old intercooler
get custom piping
16g"big" evo3 turbo
*external wastegate wont be needed with 7psi imo?
**low compression gasket
injectors
fuel pump
Now as I understand it you will get more power out of the 7 psi with a lower compression, and I know getting a lowercompression headgasket isnt the best way to go. I dont know everything about cars, but cant I run 7psi on stock gs-r pistons fully tuned safely?

7 psi can be run on stock internals with good tuning.

lets say I upgrade pistons rods and head gasket, how many pounds will the engine hold then, safely? im guessing It could hold 15-18 pounds? maybe more, the block wouldnt be the bottleneck on this would it?

if you want to safely boost 18-20 pounds you will need to resleeve. the stock sleeves wont hold up to it. upgraded lower c/r pistons and rods will let you run maybe 10-15 psi. :dunno:

you need to have a good fuel system and good tuning.

Good fueling and engine management are key. Even with low compression slugs and sleeves, a blown motor is still very possible with shitty tuning while running that kind of boost.
