Failed Smog
Miserably. My car is now labeled as a gross polluter in CA.
Test results:
HC - Max: 61 Meas: 88
CO - Max: .54 Meas: .76
NO - Max: 467 Meas: 2070
All the smog techs and I can think of is the cat. Need something OBD2 and CARB compliant, non-OEM because the dealer rapes for a cat.

A gross polluter usually is the cat. I wouldn't put anything by it. It obviously is not working at all. Most muffler shops carry factory re-man. cats. My bro just had one put on his gross polluting 96 rs (intake only) and then it passed w/flying colors. Not sure when obd-2 started? or what his may have been, but that is what he did. Cost about 3 bills installed.

I found a catco for 170 from summit...just gotta double check the length on my stock cat. If not that, I'll probably end up with a Carsound...if I can find somewhere that sells the bolt on units, and not the universal.

If you can find one for cheap, I think Random Tech now makes a OBDII GS-R boltup converter that's legal in CA...

The GSR won't fit the LS....and Random Tech makes terrible cats. I'm looking at Catco right now, but I'm finding all kinds of conflicting numbers for the LS cat length...just gonna have to get under the car and measure the thing tomorrow.

Just move to Oregon, we dont have emissions unless you live in portland, thats why I can drive my big ass truck that gets 4.5 miles per gallon here :fawk: well good luck with that, the cat on my car is hollow and nobody will ever know but it is getting 35 mpg so it cant be running that bad.
