I have a 2.5 inch tach and i was wondering if there is any other way to hook the green wire of the tach. I know it goes to the negative side of the coil but is there any other way????? This is for a 94 honda civic cx with no existing tach thx

I think you can hook it up to the RPM signal wire going directly to the ECU. I am not sure which one it is, but if you find a pinout, it will show you.

actually you can just use the blue wire that already goes to the back of your gauge cluster as it is the signal wire for the tach because all civics come pre wired for a tach.

Or if you want to know what the ECU pin is for the RPM sensor, check the civic page in my sig for a 5g wiring diagram. The center of that chart is the ECU pinout.

its the light blue one. if you look at the pin there should be no connection on the back of the gauge cluster.
