Default hitting rev lim. at 5500 rpm

my car is hitting a rev limiter at 5500 rpm. I have a 95 civic with a d16y7 swap and the tranny was also changed to manual. The auto. slider sits in neutral I was thinking it was maybe a rev limiter for neutral. would i have to buy a manual tranny to fix this or is their another way to do it?
Thanks for any help

Default Ecu

I believe you need to swap out your ECU, the ECU's are different for AUTO's and MANUALS.

wait i dont get it, rephrase ur problem. So you have a manual tranny swap? but you still have te auto slider that sitting in neutral?

So basically you had an auto you swapped out the engine, you did a auto-manual conversion but kept the auto ECU?
