Default 94 civic lx engine help

i cant decide which engine to put in my 94 civic lx i want relatively cheap and fast to begin with i dont want to have to change the tranny either and be able to do bolt ons like cai and headers and maybe turbo

Are you saying you don't want to change the LX/DX tranny? It would be a good idea to switch the tranny if you change engines. Technically you can put a D16Z6 or Y8, and keep using the long geared D15 tranny that you have already, but I would suggest changing to the tranny that came with those 2 engines. If you are considering a B,H, F, or K series swap, then you have no choice but to use their transmissions. Hope I read your question correctly.

As far as being cheaper.... the 92-95 EX/Si and 96-00 EX engines would be the cheapest. Stepping up to a B series, the B18B (LS) engine would most likely be the next as far as pricing. I don't want to turn this into another B16vsB18vsH22 thread, so I just threw those 2 engines as your cheapest alternative since that's what you wanted.
