Can someone explain to me what torque is and how it relates to cars? What does 127 ft-lbs of torque and max torque = 5200rpm mean? thx

how stuff works is a great site i didnt chek that link but i can tell you that torque is a twisting force and if the peak is at 5200 then that is when your motor or wheel is has that 127 pound feet of torque thats my little bit but www.howstuffworks.com should give you an excelent understanding as to how torque works and it is great for nething else you dont understand i use the site alot

Stock output is measured at the flywheel. Expect a 15% loss from that 127lb-ft when measured at the wheel.
