Vtec question for newbie

I'm going to take a stab at this one.
I believe he means d15b7.?
Anyways the correct way to find the rpm where the cams should switch over is on a dyno. Doing so otherwise is pointless and you could be losing power.

no theres a d15y7, its in the 92-95 civic hx. it would be a hassle because that engine came duel carborated. i dont really see the point in putting vtec on a carborated engine. convert it to fuel injection first then add vtec. i recommend the 99 civic ex intake manifold.

Where is this suposed obd-1 carborated civic? I believe everything from 1988 up is fuel injected.
The Hx didn't come out till 96 and only the dx,si,ex,vx,and cx were available inthe 5th gen civic.
They are all fuel injected.
The hx came with a 115hp vtec-e
