Relevance is irrelevant
Welcome.
You could just consider upgrading the rotors and pads. For everyday driving that should be enough. Remember that people got around pretty well for years on just drums.

oops didnt realize rear disc already....the reason i am is this is not going to be a run of the mill teg show car...this car is going to be pure speed demon. my plans are to start with brakes and suspension and steering then move to drivetrain then engine and electronics. i plan on running roughly 500 ponies outta this car...i was under the assumption that big brake kit would be the best way to go strictly from a racing standpoint...was i wrong??

for a daily driver, some decent aftermarket pads (ie Cobalt GT-Sports) will bite nicely, and won't hurt your stock rotors (think Brembo blank discs for ~$38 each)

People have their own reasons to upgrade to a BBK.
Brembo is the best you can get- but expect to pay $2000.
Good alternatives would be:
Rotora.com is a good alternative
Stoptech also.
AEM BBK utilizes a Brembo caliper, that is a good choice as well.
Other brands are available, but those are either track only or I feel the build quality is poor.
