Default My GSR Makes A Weird Noise Around 3100 RPM

There Is A Weird Noise Coming From My 96 GSR When It Hits About 3000 - 3200 Rpms. When I Rev It Up It Hums @ 3000-3200 , and When It Falls Back Down Around The Same Place It Hums. Is There Something Loose? Is It My Vtec maufunctioning?

Question: Why Capitalize Every Single Word?

Seriously though, you may have a loose heatshield on your exhaust, specifically around the catalytic converter. That's my first guess.

How many miles does your car have...and does the car see snow routinely?

Oh, and Welcome to HAN.

I had a buzzing sound at that rpm and it was the heatshield on my cat...so it might matter. If its still there after u put on ur catback, check that heatsheild. I just put a clamp around mine.

Getting a header and a cat back won't fix your cat problem, because they don't replace the cat. It's either the cat heat shields as mentioned before, or the A pipe on the header.

I had the same problem. It is a faulty A-pipe on the manifold. The welds crack over time and I fixed the problem with a header. It went away.
