Default Buying GSR, got question

Hey all, Newbie here...

I'm about to pick up an '01 GSR, got an opinion question about having the car checked out by a dealer. I'm buying the car private sale, I was going to have it checked out by a nearby Acura dealer but all the service departments are booked up too far out.

I'm normally my own mechanic so I've already checked out the usual stuff, I'm new to Hondas and I was just a bit concerned that the first owner has never had any service other than oil-changes and a new set of tires. The car has 54k so I would expect that it's missed a valve adjustment in there somewhere. I don't know what else to expect?

I'm leaning towards just giving the car another good look and going for it, but figured I'd check in to say hello and see what some others thought.

Should I worry about premature wear or damage since the valve clearance has never been adjusted? All the cars I've ever owned have hydraulic lifters.

Seriously, if all looks well most likely it is. And rule of thumb valves don't need to be adjusted unless a clatter is detected, otherwise they are fine.

$11,750, I'm pretty happy with the price.

For an '01? With 54K miles, assuming the car's in really good condition, is a fairly decent price... Welcome to the club of FWD cars that don't suck! :exnbp:
