Default 1991 honda accord lx turbo

hi whats up im new to this site and looking for any possible help.
i have a 91 accord lx. i have no engine mods yet and looking to go big. im thinkinf of forced induction. i first started my removing my tired f22a1 engine and replaced it with new life a f22a4 engine the ex model. it has about 15 more horse. ive never seen a supercharger kit so im thinking about going with a custom turbo kit. ive seen plenty of good priced turbos on ebay and other sites. but ive never beenable to find a manifold. if you guys have seen one let me know. also couldnt i use a h22a turbo mainfol seeing how the heads are pretty much the same. if you guys have any tips or suggestions id appreciate it. thanx

Well, it's too bad you put the f22a4 in it...the a6 has about 15 more hp than that. The a6 is the EX engine. Anyway, You might want to try and find AznBadAss92LX. He did a whole custom DSM turbo setup on the f22a6. I know he's on here sometimes, but he's on www.cb7tuner.com a good bit. That's a forum specificly dedicated to our generation of Accords.

You're very wrong my friend. This information is taken directly from http://www.accordinglydone.com/data/...s.php?Series=F

There are 6 different f22a motors. The f22a1 (1st version) was put in the 90-93 Accord LX/DX. It boasted about 125 hp and 137 ft/lbs. The second version was in the 92-96 Preludes and had about 135 hp and 142 ft/lbs.

The a3, 7, and 8 were all on Accord models which not alot of people have. We won't discuss them.

Now they seem to forget that the a4 was made and was put in most SE models except for the '91 SE. The a4 was around 130-35. The a6 was the standard for most of the EX models from 90-93. It had around 140hp and 142 ft/lbs.

If you have an f22a4, you will have probably 130 hp and 135 ft lbs. It was generally the SE engine for our generation of Accords. Sorry to burst your bubble bud.

:yay:

but you might also want to consider if you have a decent mileage engine to just go for a cheap 50 shot
my firend's got a 92 lx mt and ran a respectable 16.3 w/out nitrous and dropped his 1/4 time to 15.7 with a 50 shot and intake
not a bad start, and very cheap/easy to install

my original engine was the a1 and now i have the a4. if you go to cars.com it tells you. theres only 2 different horsepower ratings in 90-93 acccord and the se is like the canadian or european model if you look in the haynes manual it will tell you that. but enough with the engines. i want to find a turbo manifold. the f22a can hold a lot more boost then the h22a. so that why i didnt do a expensive swap.
thanx

Think whatever you want dude. I'm just trying to give you the real info. Your site doesn't even say "f22a4 140hp". It just says that there were 2 different varieties of motor for the 92 Accord. That's one year out of 4 that this style of Accord was made. You haven't got anything to back your info up. The only thing you're right about in that post is that the f22 motor has more potential for boost than the h22.

I already gave you the name of a guy who could probably help you out. http://www.modacar.com has the DRAG setup for our generation which includes a manifold. I'd probably buy the DRAG setup, sell whatever parts you don't want to use from it and buy the stuff you want to put in there.
