Default Engine Question

Ok I found an engine on eBay that is SUPPOSEDLY a H22A Type S but when I look at it, it has a black valve cover. This is making me think its a standard H22A, still I am interested in getting it cuz its in my area like 30 miles from where I live, so anyways here is the question:

Do ALL Type S engines have a red valve cover, is there any other way to check if it is a Type S aside from checking the HP and such? Thnx
I mean external look and stuff, does the Type S engine LOOK any different from the standard H22A?

According to my friend who has been a die-hard Prelude owner for years, all JDM motors are block stamped H22A and look the same. The only difference he could think of was the valve cover color. The Type S is red and all other regular H motors are black. From your description, it sounds like you're looking at a non-S engine.

Alright thanks. Thats what I thought. Well for the price its going right now its still worth the money for a standard H22A... we'll see if I can go down and look at it.
