H22a4 turbo set up ?
Hello, I own a Prelude SH 98 and I want to uprade to a custom turbo kit.
I don't want to work in the engine yet, so I would like the best set up for best HP, that would still be good for full engine upgrade. Should I go for a T3/T4 and what kind of wastegate ? I know just a bit so thanks for help !

definatly resleeve the block if boosting over 10 pounds. the open deck on the a4 makes for weak cylider walls. darton makes an open to closed deck conversion for the h22a4

H22A4's can handle a shitload of boost, you just have to rebuild the bottom end and upgrade ur internals. If you keep it stock and wanna run a turbo, you won't be able to run much psi.

yes the h22a4 is the worst block for high HP turbo
mainly cause of the open deck
get a h22a/1 and sleeve it, add forged rods + pistons and ur done with the block
cam gears for the head, to dial out overlap...
some bigger injectors, the turbo of course, a tial wastegate...
etc
and the electronics
about $4000 from now you will be making good power
