Default I need opinions and experiences with 18 in. Tires for 03 EX V6 Sedan

I am looking into new rims for my car. Personally, I would love the 18in 7 spoke rims from the Infiniti G35 in chrome, but that seems hard to find and expensive, so I am looking at KONIG PROPHET (chrome or silver) or TSW RIB in chrome.

According to http://www.powerdog.com/tiresize.cgi/
215/45-18 is the closest to 205/60-16 and 225/40-18 is actually the smallest compared to OEM (205/60-16).

Is 215 to narror for a 7 or 7.5 width wheel? Also, 215/45-18 seems kind of hard to find. Is that true?

I do not wish to drop my car any. Does anyone have experience with this setup and/or 215/45-18? Will my car appear higher (off-road look) if I don't drop it? I am hoping by getting as close a possible to the OEM specs taking the plus sizing into account, I won't have to drop the car nor cause alignment and other problems.

On my last car, a 96 EX V6, 225/40-18's made my car look off-road without a drop.

Tire size results
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revolutions Difference
205/60-16 4.8 in 12.8 in 25.7 in 80.7 in 785 / mile N/A
215/45-18 3.8 in 12.8 in 25.6 in 80.5 in 787 / mile -0.3%
225/40-18 3.5 in 12.5 in 25.1 in 78.8 in 804 / mile -2.3%
225/45-18 4.0 in 13.0 in 26.0 in 81.6 in 777 / mile 1.1%
235/40-18 3.7 in 12.7 in 25.4 in 79.8 in 794 / mile -1.1%

Yep, it's gonna look off road with 18s and no drop, even if it is the right diameter. It's the whole wheel gap/tire sidewall ratio that gives that lifted look.

IMO even with stock size wheels and tires a nice 1-2" drop will make the car look better.

If you don't want to lower the car, I'd get the factory Honda/Acura 17" wheels. Because it is a stock size, it'll look much more normal than 18s.

If you did lower, and you could get a good offset 18" wheel to run the 235/40s, that would be a sweet setup.

What size tires come with the factory Honda/Acura 17"?

Why would the 235/40s be a sweet setup, isn't that an extremely wide tire?

I'd just buy the Honda/Acura 17s without tires and put whatever tires you want on them.

It's not extremely wide. Wide for Accords, yes, but not extreme. I have 225s no problems. I say that 235 would be sweet if they fit cause wider = better grip, so better handling and braking. I also like the more aggressive look of a wider tire.

But if you get the honda/acura 17's you will probably be limited on width due to the width of the wheels. Probably 215 or 225 would be your max width.

Here is the 17" Honda/Acura ones I really like:

But a wider tire means more friction, which means for gas. I pay $2/gal here!

I like the dimensions on those 17 in tires, real close to stock!
205/60-16 4.8 in 12.8 in 25.7 in 80.7 in 785 / mile N/A
215/50-17 4.2 in 12.7 in 25.5 in 80.0 in 792 / mile -0.9%

That silver accord coupe isn't dropped right?

TSW RIB

Konig Prophet
