accord silverstars
the accord uses 9005 for high beam and 9006 for low beam. if i was to upgrade to sylvania silverstars, would i have to buy both sets or would a set of 9006s be sufficent?

Ideally you would buy both, but since you use (I assume) your low beams more than your high beams, those would be the one's I'd replace first... :dunno:

I woudn't replace the high beams. Colored bulbs aren't any brighter, and while the more "white light" does great on dry lighter colored roads, they make wet dark roads harder to see. The more yellow light in the stock bulbs give more visibility in those conditions. At least that's been my experience. I'd leave the high beams stock. You get the colored bulbs for esthetics, when you are using the high beams it's cause you gotta see, not be seen.
And yes, do the 9005 conversion for your low beams. If you don't know what that is, search, there's lots of threads on it.

How about this. DON'T GET THE SILVERSTARS. They won't last you all that long anyways. Might as well just stick with OEM or just save up to get some real HID's. I did the 9005 conversion and thought mine were lasting longer than most others. Others will tell you how theirs blew out in less than a year. One of mine blew out in about 8 months. They were a lot whiter than stock, but still no where near HID's. Just stick with your stock ones because they will last a lot longer.
