Yo,
I was wondering if its possible to convert the F23a engine into the VTEC, I think it's the F23b, not too sure. It seems like you could just change the head and the ECU and thats it. If you have any info that could help me that would be super sweet.
Thanks.

Yup,
I have a 2001 DX with the F23A5 motor. That's why I figured I would have to change the head to raise the compression and then get the ECU. Do you know if that's all I need to do to get the 150 hp instead of my dinky 135 hp?

Dang,
That sounds like a good assumption, not gonna worry about the exhaust because I'm getting headers but the intake might be different. Thanks anyways.

There are many better alternatives for power then converting to vtec for this motor.
1. Buy a conplete LX\EX F23A vtec engine from someone else.
2. Add nitrous, great and easy since you have low compression.
3. Port your current head.
Is your car an Auto? If so all of the above may not be worth your time. The tranny and this engine together may be too much to over come.

Finally, a fellow DXer, I feel for you bro.
What I did to get around the extreme lack power was do the suspension/wheels/tires and brakes. That way I wouldnt have to slow as much and could keep the speed up. However, we also have a speed Govn at 115mph. And when you hit that. . .You're at 100mph real quick. The trick is to stick 114.
