are these things worth it? are hi flow cats in general worth it?
or should i just buy one of the stainless steel 40 dollar ones, or not buy one at all?

If your running some forced induction then I would say yes, but your not going to see any real gains in low end performance. It will just make the exhaust less restrictive, which on helps out at really high RPMs. So this is why xbajbusx says that it felt slower. You gain more hp, but lose torque in the end. Do you plan on running at 6 thousand rpms all the time or 2 to 4 grand.

i still wanna know how i can get more low end back...most of the free-flowing mods (i/h/e/cat too) are gonna make u lose low end...b/c ur lessening backpressure...and the backpressure is what gives u torque...so how do i get my torque back?

Sorry dude, but thats the pain for getting perfectly balanced exhaust. You don't want too much flow, but you don't want it to restrictive either. For now I would just recommend a good header.
Basically the only way to get torque back at this stage in the game after the I/H/E is forced induction. Either turbo or supercharger. Mostly turbo though.

unless you have lot of mods done your car or you have say 5yr and 100k on your stock cat it's probably not worth the money right now.
i have a carsound cat, but i have an H22 and others see a nice gain in the mid-hi rpms with a hi flow cat.
