Rear of that car = sexual healing.

I don't care for the front, but it looks like they've got another winner on their hands, can't really argue with those engine choices.

I'm glad they 'may' be offering the M in sedan form, because I'm sure as hell not interested in the coupe form

A brilliant mechanical package soiled by fussy design.
The new motor sounds great, but the exterior....:a:

Very much agree with that statement, however it still lacks the looks that everybody loves about Classic BMWs. As much I hate BMWs, and german cars in general, I gotta admit that past gen 3, 5, 7, and the old 8 were some of the best looking cars on the road.

why are they calling them E92? are they not sharing the same chassis as the E90 sedans?

I would also agree that the sedan looks better....so far. however I wouldn't come to a decision until I actually see the car in person.

I also agree that the dual pipes are an odd design from bmw, I think they should have been further apart.

Earlier in the development process BMW was thinking about calling the 3-series coupe the 4-series, kinda like how the 6-series is a coupe that is mechanically similar to the 5-series but priced higher. So my guess would be that they gave it a separate chassis code at that point, and when they gave up on the 4-series idea, just kept the E92 designation.

What was the rationale with using a different engine line-up than the 3/5/Z4? It would have made more sense to offer the 215hp 3.0, 255hp 3.0, and 300hp 3.0tt to me than offer up the 230hp 3.0 engine. It just seems out of place to me.
