Default How can I make my GSR tougher + faster?

I have a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust, (suspenion parts I am installing next week) coilovers, thicker rear sway bar, and camber alignment kit.

What can I do to improve all around preformance. And keep it reliable fairly good gas mileage and make able to easily withstand operator error, and racing conditions? I use my owner's manuel schedule to maintaine the car.

I am considering installing::closeup:
*AEM, HKS, or Toda cams and cam gears.
*Toda header.
*Comptech cat. converter but I am not sure if that will make a differance.
*Skunk2, or Venom intake mainfold
*16" or 17" wheels with a little wider tire. Volk, ROTA, or Velox
*spacers
*costum valve cover
*DC sports, or Skunk2 Short shifter.
*ACT or Spoon racing clutch and flywheel.
*Hondata EMs

my personal OPINIONS:

- I've never seen HKS cams/gears on a 'teg, so I can't say anything about that, but I've seen AEM and TODA stuff on tegs all over the place
- I'm not so sure that a Comptech cat. converter would be any better than a MUCH cheaper carsound/magnaflow cat, so go with the latter
- I'd say save a LOT of money and go with a Skunk2 manifold...unless you're looking into shaving every last possible hundreth of a second off your 1/4 or whatever other kind of racing you do, the Venom wouldnt be worth all the extra money
- if you're looking overall performance and gas mileage, go with a set of 15" or 16" REALLY lightweight wheels...the lighter the wheels, the better your gas mileage and actually ride comfort will be, as well as acceleration and braking (all of these will be improved, but not by much)
- go with ACT stuff...again, I don't think all the extra money you'd spend on Spoon stuff will do you much good, if any. I'd personally get an ACT clutch of some sort (depending on what you're looking for) and a Fidanza flywheel.

hope this helps some

Agreed with everyone else.... right now, a header will actually probably give you a slight difference you could feel, since right now, your air-flow mods are kind of pointless since it's an hourglass shape... you're getting extra air at the intake, that can't flow freely out of that exhaust because your headers are stock (unless I missed something whilst reading.)

Eh, just my .02 brutta.

Drive safe.

Probaly not, at least not any time soon. Because thats where I think you reliabilty starts to be afected when its not setup perfect. I am pretty sure thats were mpg. starts to really decrease.

It'll help, but not tht much at his current state. Anyway the exhaust airflow on our cars is pretty good anyway.
