no matter how much you put into it, matching silver is the hardest b/c of the metallic in it. you can never match the amount.
you dont get what you pay for. a quart of paint costs about $20. and they mostlikely have clear left over from another job they did. so you paid a good amount of money for something that is easy to do(little pieces)
good paint shops can match the fade on your paint. I think they call it tinting or something like that. I've seen an amazing paint matching job done on aftermarket lip/spoilers from a top notch shop.
You can't tell that the lip was not painted by the factory. Pretty amazing.

its not the painters that do it, its the paint mixer. they will take off the gas tank cover and bring it to the paintshop, which they will spend more time matching the paint and they will garuntee it will match or they give you paint again until its matched, but its alittle more expensive
