Default Question About This Bumper [DC Integra / CL Conversion]

Hey,

I'm thinking of purchasing this bumper for my 01 Integra GSR (pic attached) and noticed I need Acura CL (97-99) headlight assembly to fit the bumper. Has anyone else done this? Is there a lot of work involved in switching the Headlight Assembly's. If there isn't, I also need to buy the headlight assembly's if anyone has them.

please dont ruin your teg with that awful kit. it wont fit right without major bodywork. from the conversion's i've seen of that, the lights attach to the back of the bumper causing stress points in already crappy fiberglass. that is one of the most played out and ugly kits ever.

Please... no.

That CL "conversion" looked like shit in 1997 and to waste money on it a decade later will earn you nothing but ridicule.

Besides, almost all of those bumpers were made from chopper-gun fibreglass. If a mouse farts on it from 5 feet away, it will crack.

Don't do it.

Moved to App/Cos: Showroom.

I've already got an after market front bumper on the car made of similar fiberglass, and I'd have to admit, it's not great to work with. I had an autobody mechanic friend put them on for me and he took hours and hours to make it look good. Now I've been hit and run on and will need new bumpers anyway. I kind of thought the kit looked good. I'm guessing without reciepts, my insurance won't pay up to make it look as good as it did after my buddy was done with it originally. Any suggestions about engine mods?

Wait... hold on...
Your bumper is damaged and you want to worry about power adders instead? :eh:
Since I've moved your thread to our appearance forum, let's keep this train on the tracks.

Since you need to repair the bodywork first, ditch the kit and revert back to a stock Integra bumper. It's far more durable than the fibreglass crap and frankly it looks much better.

As far as insurance is concerned... without a reciept, it never happened.
So yeah, they will not compensate you for the expense of fitting the last kit.

And as far as power adders go, use the Integra FAQ.
Your question is way too broad and the answer depends on a half dozen different factors:
* your budget
* your goals
* which model of Integra you own
* what smog laws you have to comply with, etc, etc..

Asking about "power adders" was simply an after thought...excuse me. I'm going with that kit, the stock bumpers look "tired". Is that your car beneath your listing?

I'm simply giving you the straight shit on that bumper.
And I'm telling you that you're going to get a lot of flack.

Even when you set aside the whole design issue, the fact still remains that fiberglass is not a good material for a functional bumper.

But it's your money.

And for the record, yes... that's my DC.
Feel like talking shit about it?
