Mazda Wheels on a Civic

I have a set of 14x6 wheels from a Miata. The bolt pattern matches my 2002 Civic sedan (4x100) but the center bore is too small (54.1 vs 56.1 on the car). Is it possible to have the center bore machined the extra 2mm? Would this damage the wheels, make the wheels impossible to balance or make them unsafe? If it is possible does someone have a ballpark figure as to how much it would cost (I already have the wheels so it would hopefully be alot cheaper than buying new wheels). Thanks for any info.

I'm guessing that you want to use these wheels because they're both light and you got it for real cheap (or even free!).

I don't know how much it'll cost but I'm guessing that even though you're only taking off about 2mm, this might prove disastrous when it comes to balancing. You might have to throw on a lot of wheel weights to make it properly balanced plus you sacrifice the integrity of the wheel.

If anything, you might consider machining your calipers instead of the wheels

I did get the wheels for cheap, not thinking about the center bore, I thought that only the bolt pattern had to match. Machining the hubs seems like too much of a pain to do, plus it permanently changes the hub for future wheels.
