It hardly get any snow (we've had 3-4 days of snow so far this winter) here in the ATL.

Yes, I still have the G. It's my weekend/fun car. I thought about converting it to the DD but too lazy. Plus it's getting some more stuffs done to it now.

But I DD my AP2 for as long as I owned it (In spring summer and fall). Had no issues, it was the reason I bought the car, I didn't want it as a weekend warrior, I wanted to drive it all the time. I had a 60 mile round trip drive, and the car made it tolerable. I'd still suggest the AP2 over the AP1 for several reasons, but to each their own.
Yea, I'm still looking around. It's hard to find a clean one here for a good price. Most of them got beatup pretty bad.

350z might be faster, but handles better? Not really. And not really much more practical. I hated how the 350z drove...not much of a driver's car.

I agree. And it's not that much faster. I have several friends w/ 350z's that rave all the time how they love my car much more than their own car. They say it 'feels' faster, more comfortable/luxurious and ages better lookswise.

I loved the 350z when it came out...and I really wanted one until I drove one. I still love the styling, just don't love the way it drives...no feeling.

370Z > S2K > 350Z

h:

the s2k is definitely more of a "driver's car" but its still a roadster compared to an actual car with a legit cabin like the Z. (Z convertibles dont count. h: ) im probably just getting old so thats why i prefer a fixed roof instead of a convertible (even with a hardtop).

QFT. Also gotta keep in mind that the S2000 is dated. Came out 11 years ago and for the most part, remained unchanged in terms of the body and interior.

As to the convertible side of the line, that's gonna be entirely a personal decision. I know some people who got sick of convertibles very fast where I doubt I ever will.

Jesus, you guys are giving me second thoughts. It doesn't help that the few dealers i've found down here with one won't let me keep it for an extended test drive. I'm not trying to joyride. I'm seriously trying to decide if I can live with one as a DD. I guess I need to do some social networking and see what turns up. I can't make this type of decision based on a 15 minute test drive. Going from a Fit to an S2000 is a big jump, two totally different worlds.

I actually had one lined out, loan approved and everything. '07 BB w 28K for $19.5K It was late on Friday. I decided to wait till Monday to ensure I was making the right decision. Signed a promissory note to sorta seal the deal. Went in the next day (Sat) to ask if I could take her out for a few hours by myself, not overnight or anything. My salesman said "I'll see what I can do." He went over to the Manager in the next cubicle and I overheard him say "No, not on the S2000". I chuckled, because the way he said it made it sound like it had a prancing horse on the hood. Granted, it was one of the nicer cars on the lot, but it still made me laugh. The best he could offer was another escorted test drive. It kinda hurt turning down driving such a machine, I figured it was a waste of time - wouldn't really learn much more over the first time I took her out. I asked him if he could move from a Fit to an S2000 based on a short test drive and he just nodded "No".

Went home and thought about it, couldn't make a decision. Monday came and the dealer called, saying the interest rate went up five percent because my credit history wasn't "diverse" enough. Lord knows they would say the same thing (for different reasons) if I had too much buying power credit-wise. Never missed a payment in my life, but only 3 lines of credit, one was only 1 year old and another 10 year old Mastercard had mysteriously dropped off the TransUnion credit report they pulled. That's another story though. Luckily, the note I signed included the terms of the loan. Kinda dumb on their part. On the way there, I decided it wasn't the right time. Walked in, asked to see the promissory, and told him I didn't feel comfortable with the deal. He seemed bummed but understanding at the same time. I ripped up the note and left.

I've lusted after an S2000 since 2000. I was a young up and coming grease monkey that year. I still remember the day the sales manager paged me to his desk. He told me to bring in a car so one of the other service techs could PDI it later in the day. The little yellow tag attached to the set of keys was a bit ambiguous, merely stating "silver convertible". I had to do a double take. I cannot remember if the key its self states "S2000" or not, or maybe it was the fact that there was only one type of "silver convertible" made by Honda at the time, but I knew what I was about to pilot. The ride may have only lasted for two blocks, but I knew I had to have one.

The tech that eventually performed the PDI was a complete dumbass, couldn't even find reverse. I watched and laughed, under my Hunter alignment machine/oil change station, as he stalled it five or six times. Nonchalantly walked over there, told him to go to neutral, push the gearknob towards the ground then all the way to the right and down.

Well, I guess this post turned out to be quite a bit longer than I originally expected. Hope at least a few read it in its entirety. It just feels kinda shitty that I might be too "old" for one after waiting to buy for so long. I still don't know...

^^ I know exactly what you mean. I bought mine as a 28th birthday present for myself. I had an afternoon testdrive (gave me keys w/ my 2008 odyssey as collateral) and then an around the block for the one I bought. I was hooked after the first 10 min of really driving it and haven't looked back since. I was shopping for older 911's, M3's, Z4M's, TT's and honestly loved the S as a part of my being....

I got hooked when Chrispiss let me drive his for a few mins right after he got it...not even broken in yet. I got super hooked when he let me drive it post-break in. :rick:
