Default Rear 'Window'

Hi All,

Recently purchased an S2000 - 01 Model - Black with Black interior. Very happy with it - performance is great and handling is pin point - but I suppose you all know that already! It's going to have to stay pretty stock unfortunately as I have to use it every day for work.

The plastic rear 'windscreen' is very dirty on the inside - can anyone suggest anything to clean it properly? I've tried just normal glass cleaner and it doesn't touch it!

Any help would be greatfully received.

Cheers

You'll want to try a plastic specific cleaner. S100 (I think that's the brand) makes a plastic cleaner specifically for motorcycle windscreens. I'd give that a shot.

The 02+ have glass rear windows and a host of other improvements, maybe you should quickly resell and then try to move up to that The best way though is to swap in the rear glass from those years. The plastic window sucked.

I believe Rick sells a bar that you can place there to prevent the ugly line from forming.

It's about 1500 USD give or take a bit for a 02+ top w/glass rear window. The glass window is a lot smaller but it is a lot better. For me I don't care, top down anyways....

Hi, I'm new to the board - just bought 2000 S2000 last week - I'm in Asia. Try Novus, which has 3 plastic polishes. No. 1 is a plastic clean & shine, no.2 is a fine scratch remover and no. 3 is a heavy scratch remover. My plastic rear window was pretty dirty and has the scratch line. It cleaned up a lot with Novus and I'm going to give it another go this weekend. ps this stuff is made in the U.S.
ps loving this car!

Plexus works wonders. Or just do what I did, scrapped the 00 top and got a 02 top and rear glass window with reinforcements. No more foggy windows and no more wear holes.
