The 04's+ are nice, but a little too refined for me. I love the pureness of the 00'. I haven't had gearbox troubles or anything. Sure the back is twitchy at times but it takes a lot of skill to drive this car to the max (as an amateur I need 245s at the rear). The car did not pick up as well under 6k, but since I put on a single full-catback (T1R 70mm) it is a lot better in the 3-5k range.

Personally anything 02 and up is good IMO. If you want the 2.0, get a 02 or 03, otherwise 04+ obviously. Whichever you find in the best shape for a good price is

difference from 00-01 and 02-03 is the rear glass window mainly and the chrome ring around the taillights other then that nothing major, now 00-03 compared to 04-05 the newer S is a 2.2 liter with not as nearly high of a rev limiter the speakers are a lil better door panels changed alil center console changed, led taillights are much better then the old version and better looking projector headlights at least i think so.
