my dad has, and just because some people say "dont do it by urself, it'll be crap!!" dont listen. My dad tinted his own windows and it lasted for years without peeling or bubbling. So if you plan on doing it yourself buy a high quality brand, and make sure you do a good job.

Check out Tintdude.com. There are several great tips there as shared by professionals. Personally, I would not attempt this myself.
Be sure to read about how to successfully cover the dot matrix area of the rear hatch. If a tint installer tells you that it can't be done, it just means that he doesn't know how to do it!

Do it yourself TINT!
To do tint you'll need suplies sush as a heat gun, enough tint(get extra), strong plastic squigy, lots of soapy water in a spray bottle, a razor blade or exacto knife, and time.
-First start out by putting a piece of tint on the outside of the window with the film still on the tint and cut it about 2 inches bigger than the window all the way around.
-Then take the heatgun and shrink the tint but don't hold the gun too close. Heat the tint untill the tint conforms to the window.
-Then spray the inside of the window tremendously(always keep wet to adjust tint) and then peel half of the film off the tint and spray tint and then apply to the inside of the window.
-Aline the tint properly and then peel off the rest of the film and apply all of the tint to the window.
-Once the tint is applied to the window and is alined then start from the center with the squigy and work your way to the outside making sure to get ALL the soapy water out.(if you leave soapy water under the tint then you will have permenant bubbles that will just continue to grow. Some minor bubbles will go away though.)
-Once the tint is applied don't mess with it anymore or it will rip or tear. You're now done.
DON'T ROLL YOUR WINDOWS DOWN FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 DAYS

I tinted the windows on my Toyota truck but I don't think I trust myself on my rsx. Also it is hard to buy tint that is as good as the tint shops have. It usually doesn't last and it goes purple.
