starter problems
 

hey guys,


recently been having problems with my starter motor. The battery is fine, as is all wiring. The starter solonoid trys to engage the starter but it just seems to hit up against the flywheel? and cause a metal against metal loud clicking sound.

i did the stupid thing of assuming it was just a dodgy starter and baught a new one and installed it. but im still having the same problem.

would clutch wear cause this?

or any ideas on what the problem is?
it just seems like the two gears are not meshing properly.
any help would be great
