Clunking in front end of 02 RSX when decelerating **NOT brakes**

I replaced my brakes recently so I know what they sound like when theyre bad. I dont even have to be braking but if im not accelerating then I hear clunking in the front end. Its pretty loud and everybody can hear it in the car. I used to just ignore it thinking it was road noise, but now it has gotten louder and more obnoxious. If I start decelerating from a higher speed the clunking is faster than slowly cruising down the hill on my street where its still there but not as fast, just as loud. HELP please!!

Sight unseen, my first thought is CV joints.
Get under the car (with it on jackstands, of course) and check the condition of the rubber boots at both ends of each axle.
If any of the boots are ripped, road grit will accumulate in the joint and tear it up.

common on this car is the motor mount.
