Another 2006 Civic v. RSX thread...

I'm getting tired of constanty tweaking my 1998 A4 Avant. I moved 100mi away from my mechanic and ...frankly pretty pissed at AoA, so I'm skipping buying an A3. My last new car was a 2002 A4, the new style, and I hated the r/s kneeroom. No more room than the width of the steering wheel! I had pre-ordered it and basicly bought without a test drive. Kept it 6 months. I won't make that mistake again. That brings me to looking at the RSX. As you know, there is a lot of kneeroom, no doubt. The tC does not have it...but the Civic does. I admit, the new Civic caught my eye. It's a nice car. However, when you compare the inside of the RSX and new Civic...well...coming from the Audi, no comparison. Right now, I can get a Si at msrp, or get a fat $1800 off a RSX, putting them at the same price, $20k. I know the Si is a hot ride now, but it might not be for me. I really want the LSD, again, coming from an Audi quattro and living in the snow belt. (ps I don't want the 17"s) What I really want now is a "fast commuter car". I don't want to overspend and want good mpg. I'm 40 (yikes) but both frugal and affulent. I suppose the RSX could use a lil more power. I'll wish I had the LSD, but isn't the RSX a better car for a fat old fart who wants to sit in the fast lane at 90 for two hours at a stretch? Basicly, nothing is stopping me from getting the RSX. It even makes sense that Acura will drop it next year verses a redesign. TSX Coupe' might replace it...I wish I knew for sure. BTW- I had Hondas back in the day. I just got back on the wagon...bought the wife a 1998 CR-V...clean. I DIYed all the service.

Ideas?

RSX-S ftw

Si for the LSD. Civic for the mpg. RSX for the luxury. Which one do you want most?

RSX>Civic for 90mph 2hr drives.

SI has a nice dash and digi-tach
while my baby the
RSX-S has luxury, and power

hard decision if you ask me

test drive them both , do some homework. From what Iv been reading, the performance of both cars makes the decision even harder...

RSX has "fast commuter car" written all over it, inside and out.

I'mm pulling the trigger on the RSX. It has a lot going for it. I bet well see a lot of Civics on the road in short time, less RSXs.

Not as many as you would like to think. Honda is shifting its production line towards its new Fit. Si's arent the only ones on high demand. Regular civics and accords are also up there and dealers cant get enough because Honda isnt making as many.

Well, I got the RSX silver, base, M, cloth. I love everything about the car, except the rattles. I wanted blue but could not locate one. The dealer I was working with had silver, so I got it and really like it best now. I could have gotten red, which I like, and the magnesium was my choice for a while, but did not look as good in person as I thought. Silver looks awesome.
