the SIR has been around since 88. In japan only. Then it was released in Canada in 1993 as a coupe only. The hatch came later in canada in 1995. However, they do not have a B16...the canadian SIR has a d16y8. My buddy has one. (it says "made in canada" on the front-top radiator support.) With bolt ons it stays with me through 2nd gear.

Right and tghay stopped making it in 1999 or 2000 right? then started it up again in 2002. A friend of mine knows someone with a 1999 SIR and he says with just an intake and exhaust his car could be mine. I don't know I've got alot more than that into my motor.

Same as the new SIRs but the New ones make 135 ft lbs, and I believe the 99 SiRs didn't make that much torque but I'm not sure.

I'm not sure if you guys are talking only hatch's not having the B16, but my friend's SIR (2000 coupe) has the b16. And we have an SI, but it is just the American EX. They are basically the same car with a different lable. SIR = SI, and SI = EX. Not sure how it goes below that. But the new Civic's are no longer SIR, they are SI in Canada now as well.
