Default New to forums, First Mods

hi all, im new to the forums, and ive been browsing some threads here and there. I bought a 2001 electron blue 5gen( hence the creative name) with 35k miles I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on the first few mods i should get( the car is so beautiful the way it is now, i guess im lookin more for performance mods), i was thinking the easy stuff for now like exhaust and intake. (EVO + AEM?) My friend knows someone selling an EVO with about 10k miles on it. Worth it?? anyways , my name is Manny from nj.. Peace

if you try to do a search there are many good discussions but mostly they'll say.. i/h/e = intake/header/exhaust.....

i like the aem BUT if you always drive your car.. i'd get the injen with the optional cold air extension....

i'll let the other 5th gen guys give their $.02 on exhausts..

i've got an 01 EBP 5spd too. nice car

currently i've got an AEM CAI, and i enjoy it. I think for the most part CAI's are pretty much the same, and don't expect 15 hp out of it. (maybe in concert with 2000 bucks in headwork and new high CR slugs)

exhausts, i've got my eyes set on a RS-R exmag, b/c i like the subdued look. other favorites in the bb6 hood are the apexi WS (quieter) apexi N1(loud), the EVO, and the Thermal classic. it all depends on what you want from an exhaust, most of the gains are similar.

the megan catback is probably a piece of shit. i think it's supposed to be a mugen rip off (hence the name) and will probably last you all of 1 year before the glass wool deteriorates or the tin can piping springs a leak or three.

imho, you get what you pay for (for the most part) and something as potentially ugly looking and sounding as an exhaust isn't the place to skimp
