So when the parking and/or headlights are on... the gauges dim. But there's this little wheel on the left side of my steering wheel that if I turn up past the click.... it makes the gas and temp gauges light up all the way.

Anyone know what wires I'd need to mess around with to get the clock to light up back to normal while still having the lights on.

I almost always have my lights on.... for safety and "it's the law" for in a construstion zone.... and PA is just one big construction zone.

 

Don't mess with the dimmer switch, mess with the clock itself. If you pull it out, you will see a ground, constant 12+, accessory 12+, and a dimmer line (I don't know which colors are which, so if you can get a volt meter to do some testing you'll figure it out). You can just cut the dimmer line and your clock will be full illumination all the time...... just remember when you turn your lights on and it is dark outside the clock will look a whole lot brighter than the rest of your dash.

 

So I could just put a switch inline with the dimmer line and turn it on and off at will?

If you're really adamant about adjusting the brightness of your clock, sure.


To turn it on when you start your car..... the constant 12+ is for memory (to keep the time when your car is off), acc. is to turn it on when you start the car.
