Default ever 96 auto VTEC?

Was there ever a 96 Prelude VTEC with Auto also? I talked with one website that said in JDM there was.

What are the chances I can do an engine swap, with a 96 VTEC with auto tranny with OBD-II ecu?

I'm considering just cutting my losses and selling what i have and looking for a 96 VTEC manual. I've driven manual a few times... but I'm really bad at it right now. I'd love to be able to just swap out my f22 and drop in a h22, keeping the auto. I would like to keep the OBD-II if possible, for it's advanced diag features... since I'm so dumb, I need an ECU that can, hopefully, compensate for me.

dunno.. i like stick alot better. sure it sucks at the beginning, but then you learn a few tricks... different methods of shifting, down shifting, stuff like that... you'll never go back to an auto. you just have alot more control over the car. (and more to upgrade )

but if you plan on going stick, like you said, just get another car. it'll work out much better and cheaper in the long run.

but hell, if you keep the auto, go turbo. just think, you're turbo wont have to respool through the gears!

extremely hard to find a decent prelude up around these parts. Took me forever to find this one. Maybe it'll be easier now.

Why not get a 97 automatic Prelude? I think automatics completly ruin the fun of the H22A. It's like driving a turbocharged car with an automatic, you're always driving outside the powerband.

97 starts 5th generation preludes... I don't care for the 5th gen as much as the 4th gen. 96 was the last year of the 4th gen... but also the first year of OBD-II.

Don't get me wrong... the 5th gens are nice... but I prefer a 4th gen. I've been looking for some ad's for 94 and 95 preludes around here... not many. And ones that are, have mid to high miles.

Do you like the 4th generation enough to spend thousands converting over to an auto H22? Come on man, save yourself the time and hassle and buy a 5th gen already.
