p1259 vtec system malfunction

Default p1259 vtec system malfunction

my prelude 5th gen threw a code p1259. i have a vtec controller, my oil level is good and vtec engages. what could be the cause. does anybody else have a vtec controller and have this problem. whats the min rpm to have vtec come on with a vtec controller.

It makes no difference at what RPM vtec engages...take off the controller and see if that fixs the problem..if not you need a new selonoid

dont change the solenoid since you mentioned the vtec engages.

you have a wiring problem wherever you tapped the vtec controller. basically your pcm is seeing that your solenoid is not working

its been a couple of weeks and with vtec settings oem, no malfunctions. does anybody know how low i can set my vtec controller without setting a dtc.
