Fog light question
3 Attachment(s)
I have a 93 Si, I installed JDM fog lights today and I cant figure one thing out. Id like the fog lights to turn on and off with the switch not with the headlights. I also want them to stay on with the high beams.
Ive looked into other forums and writeups and I found one that says I need to plug a male brown connector with 2 red wires into 1 of 2 holes in the fuse box for this to work. I have the holes (circled in red) but I cant find that brown connector. I do have a brown female connector blue-taped to a white wire. This white wire is for the factory security system (circled in blue). Anybody know what the female connector is for and where I can find the connector with the 2 red wires? Also, with the fog lights that I bought, one of the plugs has a brown connector taped to it. What is that for? Sorry, I know its alot of questions. Attached are the pictures of the female connector, the fuse box and the connector on the harness. Thanks |
where did you get the fog lights from?

ebay, i dont see why it matters

whats up with the cut wires since you already cut the wires just splice it in fuck all the connectors

so you want the fogs to come on with the factory switch for headlights/parking lights or you want to wire in your own switch and they will turn on with the hightbeams.

this method allows you to turn on the fogs with parking lights. however if you wish to add your own switch you will have overall control of the lights.
take a relay and wire it like so. 85 - ground 86 - RED/BLACK @ light switch (+) 87 - constant 12v fused at 20 - 25 amps 30 - to relay 2 terminal 87a wire that above, and this will allow the fogs to come on during your high beam. For example the wiring above allows the fogs to come on only when you turn the light switch one click. what i show you below allows for example if its during the day and you dont turn on the parking lights, you high beam the fogs will still light up. 85 - constant 12v 86 - negative trigger from high beam harness @ bulb 87 - constant 12v fused @ 20 - 25amps 30 - to fog lights positive input as a pro installer of car electronics, i would wire it like that. not what you mentioned above. Also, from terminal 30 of relay 2, you can wire in a toggle switch to override tehe system if you dont want the fogs on at all. hope that helps, cheers and have a happy new year to all at HAN |
Did you get them wired up? If not, listen to Tedmond. The way he described is the way I have mine wired up. Turns off and on with car if you leave the switch on.
