Default check engine

I just bought a 97 Prelude..didnt come with a owners manual so i was wondering if anyone knew why my check engine light turns green when i turn my lights on, is green good? heh i know its a stupid question

are you sure that is the check engine light? based on what you wrote, the light could be

1. High Beam (blue and it is in the center top)
2. Maintenance Indicator (it can be red, orange, or green) and you can reset it by inserting your key to the hole next to it. It is located at center bottom
3. Check Engine Light (Yellow), located at upper left

That shouldn't happen...

I believe the only green light is the "immobilizer" system, and it flashes a key led in green when you start the car...

It shouldn't happen when you put on your lights though...
The Maintenance indicator can also be green, but it is not an LED and does not light up.

If somone took out the bezel and replaced the bulb behind the engine light with a blue one, this could cause it to look green, but that would be all the time not just when your lights were on.
