ok so now my car runs fine..im driving home last night and my alpine deck just shuts off..also my car lighter doesnt work for my radar or my phone...so ofcourse im thinking fuses...the fuses all look fine...why does this little bullshit always happen to me on every car i own..do they all know i suck at anything electrical lol

thanks for any possible ideas...i know its probably something retardedly simple...but it just stopped mid song, mid drive.

 

take out you deak and check your wiring to make sure you power and acc havent came loose, also check that you speaker leads are still connected and not tuching eachother. also your cig lighter has a clip on the back of it take your pannel off and check to make sure it is still connected, if it is still connected pick up a used one at a local junkyark and replace it there not expensive

Do you have any dimming of you headlights or other lights in or out of your car?

also did your deck and your light stop at the same time?

 

im almost possitive that they both died at the same time..my phone was charging and it made a beep like it was dead and then my stereo shut off and now the light on my phone charger isnt on...ive pulled the deck and all the wiring that i did looks A-ok ...im not the best at electrical but i wired it good..its lasted me a year or so no problems..nothings loose or unplugged and the car lighter just worked last night so idk..i was praying it was just a fuse..arent the car lighter and stereo on the same fuse? idk what else could be wrong..if the fuse is fine and both broke at the same time i doubt the actuall car lighter or deck are to blame right? so if its not the fuse its gotta be the wiring but idk what the hell to do...thanks again

 

yes there on the same fuse its a 10 amp fuse, but i think the interior lights are also on that fusejust try replacing that fuse if everything looks ok

It's probably because you have an aftermarket head unit, is it possible the wiring is loose? I would think it has to do with the custom, aftermarket accessories you have...

Besides, no offense, but Alpine is made in sweatshops by kids, maybe they didn't assemble it correctly, lol...

 

i wired it myslef..nothings loose, nothings different then it was when it worked for the past 16 months..its a top of the line deck that i got right before my job (circuit city) stopped carrying it i got a 2 yr warranty but i know its not the deck.....i doubt its the deck primarily because the car lighter doesnt work either...ill just rip it all apart again..im selling my lude..one problem after another for the past 6 months lol..never anything big though but this little bullshit is really gettin to me.

I blew a fuse that shut off my cigarette lighter and aftermarket stereo system (pioneer). It also caused my clock to keep resetting itself everytime the car would turn off. I blew the fuse that controls all 3 under the hood. What happens is that specific fuse controls the memory of the 3. So my stereo and ciggarette lighter require a memory charge so it wouldnt turn on. My clock didnt require it, except to save the time I set it on. So check for another fuse under the hood and of course, look at the interior.
