i have a 1998 prelude 5 speed and on cooler mornings when i first take off from my house. i see my brake light is on, even though i put the hand brake down. it goes off after a mile or so and then when i push the brakes while the car still hasnt warmed up all the way the light comes on and then turns off when i let off the brakes. what could this be??

 

Check your brake fluid resisvor to be sure theres enough in there

 

get your brake fluid checked out, its either going bad or is bad. My 97 did the same thing until I got new brake fluid put in. If its too annoying you can take the brake fluid cap off then put it right back on and that gets rid of the light. however it doesnt get rid of the problem so just get it checked out and see what they say.

 

if the fluid is ok the cap could be bad.
