95 lude timing belt Broke!?!?!?

I tried to search it but i just couldn't find it.

Does anyone know if the timing belt breaks does it fuck up the motor on the 95 si preludes? Or does you have any good links on showing the changing process?

Thanks

Fucked?

If the timing belt breaks on any car its bad news, what was your RPM range when it broke, anything higher than maybe about 3k will cost you a new head

All Preludes have interferrence engines - you need to have your car towed to your mechanic so he can pull the head and check for valve damage.

Sorry for the bad news.

a few ppl have been luck not to cause any significant damage. as suggested, pull the head and see what happened. what you could also do, replace the belt and then do a compression check to check for any bent valves.

better safe than sorry. just spend the $$$ and change your timing belt and you're good for 90k miles

You better check the head first..... if the valves are bent and you try to start it with a brand new belt, you may snap the brand new belt, or cause even more damge to your engine!

werd. like i said, since your going to just change the belt, make sure you do a compression check before you start it. even if you have bent valve, your engine probably wont run.

Shit that would suck ass if i put it on then broke it again. Yeah your right! Do it right the first time and save the hassle in the long run.
