89 prelude turns over won't start or fire:

My Son's 89 prelude SI was running good for a while then 2 weeks ago started idling poorly at stop signs (even dieing) and now does not run.
- Turn engine over does not even fire.
- You can hear the fuel pump pressurize the system.
- Got good spark. Spray eather into the intake and it runs for the moment.
- Got fuel pressure all the way to the fuel injector rail. Seems like none of the injectors are opening. Checked all wire plugs on computer system to under hood. All good.
- Checked injector resistors and all read 6 ohms.

Every once in while during a start check the engine will fire just a couple of cylinders then no more.

1) Does anyone know if there is a sensor or switch that would kill the fuel injectors?
2) Does anyone have a wireing diagram for the ECU to fuel injectors?
3) Does anyone know how to check the voltage signal at the injector?

Thanks in advance for any comments,

The injectors should have power all the time when in the "ON" position. The computer then grounds the circuit to open the injectors. Make sure the fuel pressure is adequate. If there is pressure but it is too low, the car may not run. Check the fuel pressure. If adequate, check for power to the injectors. If they have power, check for switching. Do a continuity check between the other pin on the harness and ground as you crank the engine. If no switchy, you probably need a new ECU.

check this link out, its a common problem with older problems and its a good place to start: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...ght=main+relay

The main relay is the relay for the fuel pump. If the fuel pump is running then the main relay is fine.

Thank you Foot, Thank you Vpuppy. Problem solved!

Good advice from both of you, thanks. Turned out to be the main relay, even though if ran the fuel pump there was the ECU circuit it would not run. Disassmbly of the relay showed corrosion. Replaced relay and works great! :D

Thanks again for all of your good advice!
