broken driver's side door, help!!
 

i tried to open my door one day after returning home from work and when i pulled the inside latch, it made a snapping noise and let free. i tried locking it and unlocking it and it never worked. i went outside and tried the outdoor latch and it doesn't work as well. when i put in the key and turned it, i tried opening the outside latch and it feels like it is grinding up against something but won't catch. i have examined the inside of the door a little bit, but from what i could see all of the rods were pulling as usual, just like those of the passenger side door. i am pretty sure that the door latch in the inside of the door is broken. i don't know how to fix it. please help...!
