what's wrong with my lude?

ok so here is the problem. at first my car would rock back n forth when i drive and hit a bumpy part of the road. the faster i drive the more violent the rocking. it finally stopped after rocking itself to death. now my alignment is off. but the weird thing is after i make a left turn, and only a left turn, does the alignment go back to normal. but after i straighten out or turn the wheel right the alignment is off again. you can feel the car adjust and if you aren't aware of it you can oversteer n lose control of the car. my friend test drove it to see what was wrong n he almost lost control. does anyone know what the problem could be? at first i thought it was shock problem but now i dunno anymore. any help would be appreciated. my car is dropped on tokico blues w/h&r race springs. the tokico have been on the car for about 25k n the springs are about 10k.

have you taken it in for an alignment?

also, explain what you mean by "rock back and forth"

the car steers back and forth? anyway, sounds like your Toe is all funky.

Broken motor mount?

i'm gonna take it in for an alignment tomorrow. but the rocking back n forth is like when your car is parked n u start pushing on one side except this happens when i was driving.

Shocks and other suspension parts.

sounds almost like bad struts.

ludeboom Jan 21, 2005 06:28 AM

also check your sway bar
but yea it does sound like u are riding on your springs only, as in the struts are blown and not restricting the spring travel like they should.

i broke my sway bar left end-link at beaver run once, i dont know how, it was probably that hairpin comin around to the front straight if i had to guess. Point is i didnt really notice until the drive home when i was getting some oversteer and overall traction problems while turning.

either way ur gonna have to raise the vehicle and check all your suspension parts for broken or loose joints and bolts. otherwise its ur struts like i said before.
