Okay, tell me I didn't just get TOTALLY ripped off....
Okay, in the beginning of the summer, I brought my car into a shop to have a front camber kit installed & a 4 wheel alignment. I can't remember what the total was, but it was reasonable. So since they told me the rear wheels could be brought into spec w/o a kit, i drove all summer w/o one. Well, time for a rotation comes, and my rear wheels have HORRIBLE inner wear. So, I talk to the same shop & they say they'll re-align my wheels for free, but they have to charge for the install of the camber kit that I supply. I was expecting maybe like 80 bux for labor, right? I mean, I could've put the kit in myself in my garage in about half an hour w/ a jack & stands. it's only 8 bolts....I go to pick up my car, and the labor for installing the rear kit was $210.00!!! I was like WTF?? Should it have cost anywhere near that amount for the install of a rear camber kit??

Why didnt you ask how much an install was.
|
Because when the same shop installed the front camber kit & did an alignment, it was at a good price.

yeah way too much.
was it a ball jt or anchor bolt kit in the rear? i guess if they aligned it too, it wasn't THAT much of a ripoff, if you assume the alignment cost 50, that leave 160 in labor... billed out at 50/hr, >>>> 3hrs of labor? should be more like 1.5 and that's for a slow slow slow install. |
It was the anchor bolt kit...

should always know cost before you get stuck with a billlike that
sorry to hear that |
