Just Got Sponsored, Need Everyone's Imput On This One!!!
I have just landed a sponsorship with Sport Compact Pro  . I have the ability to purchase parts at a base price of at or below wholesale, and on top of that, SPC will pay up to 55% of the parts cost with the rest comming out of my pocket. Ok everyone, lay it all out here. What's everyone suggest for the ULTIMATE Prelude build, performance AND style......
My car is a bone stock (Just got it in Aug) Nighthawk Black 99' SH |
Black all the way around, with a nice lip and some really good window tint.
Is this a drag car, auto x, or what? |
It's gonna be drag, and then show, since I've got the money to do both now. I need advice on both performance and styling, just becuase I've got SOOO much to choose from now, I don't even know where to start! ....I LOVE IT
|
isnt the SH better suited for auto-x? the ATTS will get in the way of stuff i heard
|
I've never heard that at all. All the Atts gets in the way of is a Turbo, and I've now got a body/fabrication shop at my disposal that will build a custom Turbo kit for my car. You will lose the affect of the Atts system at 250+ hp, but it will not get in your way....unless your talking about the 80lbs it adds to the car.

If you're gonna drag it, and are serious about it, you're not gonna be able to do much in the show category, and the ATTS is wasted. Go for auto X, but you're still gonna need it stripped out and have a cage out in. Go for one or another, but not multiples, too tough to deal with, especially in a Lude.

a/x cars allow body work, and all that other froofy crap, but don't see many a/x cars with that stuff on. The ultimate a/x build is relatively simple (depending on what class you're in), whereas showkarZz are all about the build. drag cars, well. I don't know nothin about drag cars, and don't really care about em. if i were to build my car on an unlimited budget, without worrying about A/X rules: ATR tranny Buddy Club Racing Spec Dampers Type S pistons, Maybe a Forged setup + sleeves PnP/headwork SMSP header/test pipe/2.5" custom exhaust crower stage 1/2 cams + upgraded valvetrain hondata s200 or AEM EMS 16x8 Volk TE37's with 215/45/16 azenis + 15x8's with hoosier 225/45/15 Jun Flywheel + some sort of kevlar clutch CF hood Lightweight bttery progress rear sway mugen buckets and there's prob more but, you get the picture. |
I would take out the ATTS, causing you to buy a new tranny (if I am correct) or atleast a couple important tranny parts.
JOIN PRELUDEONLINE.COM IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER!!!! only $6 and you will get more information that you can possibly handle on that site. it would be perfect for you. my list of stuff for you to do: turbo setup with: no ATTS, save the weight since your going drag.. new tranny internals I/H/E of course 19in rims for the show, 16in light light light ass weight rims JDM foglights Clear out the stock taillights (dont get altezzas, just take the amber out of the rear) get 5% tint CF hood and sunroof WWRS front lip with mugen sides and rears (or greddy CF front lip) Lowered with Tein cross drilled (or dempled)/ slotted w/ red calipers vertical door kit (for the shows.... yea kinda ricey) projector headlights (going to have to be custom) cleared out front lights (turns and bumper lights) new vavle cover, polished looks clean as hell i'd go with a red/black color scheme - red/blk seats - red interior lights maybe - red engine accents (not too much) - do something about the boring gauges you'll have to have stickers to fit in with show-winning cars. :( aluminum dash trim kit (its hard to do it perfect, TAKE YOUR TIME!) system with custom box/amp holder (one that can be taken out when dragging if needed) be ready to have a place to store all your trophies! pretec |

:bs: How did you get sponsered with a bone stock car. Unless you have a history with show cars I am throwing the b.s flag up. I have heard of well known people getting sponsered who have done many nice show cars. The only othe rway I can see this as true if you owned or worked at a Import Shop. Not trying to rain on your parade but now a days you need a 350z or Evolution or Sti to get sponsered cause so many Hondas are in the shows. Or have been done to death.
