Default Question about reading ECU codes.

Question about reading ECU codes.

ok heres the deal. i have a hunting idle problem, first step would be read any stored codes in the ECU. after jumping the termanals on the service connector and turned the key to ON the usual stuf happens except the the CEL comes on and stays on no flashes, none it just stays light till you pull the jumper. then it goes out and the ABS light comes on. I was lead to believe that if there were no codes the CEL would come on once as a "hello" then go off. any ideas?
also if it matters or not just so you know it a 92 Prelude si.

Right... I believe he meant current codes. If the check engine light did not blink while it was jumped, then there are no codes to be displayed, but if the abs light stays on while driving and the ecu still does not blink any trouble codes check the following:

1.Loose or poor connection of the wire harness at the ABS conrtol unit.
2.Faulty ABS B2 (15 A) fuse in the fuse relay box under the hood.
3.Check for an open circuit in White wire between the ABS (15a) fuse in the fuse relay box under the hood, and the ABS control unit.
4.Check for an open circuit in BLK/YEL wire between the No. 9 R/C MIRROR (15 a) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and ABS control unit.
5.Short circuit in BLU/RED wire between gauge assembly and ABS control unit.
6.Open circuit in Wht/BLU wire between alternator and ABS control unit.
If the problem is still not found, substitute a know-good ABS control unit and recheck to see if the ABS light still stays on.
